This section provides an overview of the priority sectors for DRC in an emergency response, and can support in designing an emergency strategy and programme.
In each sector chapter you will find the same structure: first, an introduction to the sector in question and a description of DRC’s approach to the sector; this is followed by a list of concrete activities that DRC would typically prioritize as part of an emergency response, and finally there is a list of common challenges encountered within the sector. Each sector chapter ends with a list of links to core guidance and standards and additional reading, which can be highly useful when designing, implementing and monitoring sector interventions.
The section also includes chapters on Humanitarian Mine Action, which would typically be undertaken by DDG, and Cash Transfer Programming, which spans multiple sector interventions as an important delivery modality for DRC in emergencies.
